Four Soldotna residents have been arraigned after a Black Friday escapade involving an allegedly stolen firearm.

 

Megan Peters with the State Troopers said it all started on March 13th with the suspicious sale of a .45 Sig Sauer…

Peters: “So essentially a guy went to the residence to purchase a pistol and got a weird vibe, so he ended up documenting the serial number on the gun and then after he left, he reported it to the Alaska State Troopers to see if it was stolen. The pistol did in fact come back as stolen from an APD case, so a warrant was obtained to search for and seize the stolen firearm. In the process of issuing that search warrant, meth and heroin and related paraphernalia were located. They were able to amend the search warrant to include controlled substances. Approximately 12.1 grams of meth and 2.408 grams of heroin were recovered from Joe Lantz, in addition to about $2,304 in cash.”

 

30-year-old Lantz was taken to Wildwood where he was found to be concealing heroin. He claimed he didn’t own any guns and didn’t know where the weapons in his home came from.

 

Three women were also arrested during this investigation: Lantz’ wife, 25-year-old Breanna Wright, 45-year-old Patricia Barnes, and 39-year-old Kami Tullos. Tullos escaped via the back door but was soon located by Troopers.

 

Lantz faces four felony charges for drugs, theft, and weapons misconduct with a maximum of 60 years in prison. Wright was charged with three felonies and a maximum of 16 years. Barnes has 11 felonies and up to 101 years in prison. Wright had been the third-party custodian for Barnes who was on parole for a different case. Tullos was charged with one felony and a maximum of 5 years in prison.
