Black Friday Deals Melting into Small Business Saturday

Author: KSRM News Desk |

Some big box stores like Fred Meyers will have Thanksgiving door buster sales, but most local shops will stick to opening on Black Friday with deals extending to Small Business Saturday.

Si Zimmerman with Kenai Peninsula Harley Davidson said they will not be having any late night Thanksgiving sales and commented on early Black Friday openings.

Zimmerman: “I think it’s pretty crazy and I think it’s gotten out of hand but if you want to get up early in the morning and go stand in line for that TV then more power to you.”

He added that they are sticking to their normal store hours on Friday and working to ease shipping near the holidays.

Zimmerman: “There’s always going to be some store specials but our main attraction this year is the free shipping anywhere in the United States. If you’ve got that obscure family member, I’ve got something for them I promise and again we’ll gift wrap it, package it, and take it to the post office for you and you leave with a tracking number to make sure it gets to where it’s going and that service is free, it’s no charge and I don’t see how we could make it any easier for Christmas shopping.”
