BlueCrest Energy is bringing more jobs to the Kenai Peninsula with construction on an onshore facility at the Cosmopolitan unit near Anchor Point already underway. President and CEO Benjamin Johnson said the onshore facility will target deep oil reserves and platforms will later be added to draw out natural gas…
Johnson: “We’ve got a variety of different jobs. We’ll be using drilling people, which will include anything from laborers, engineers, scientists, operators, various levels of technical folks, and mechanical folks. We’ve got the trades, the welders, pipe fitters, all of that will be employed in what we’re doing.”
The expansion will see BlueCrest hire roughly 400 in the short term…
Johnson: “The construction work will last approximately a year and we should start ramping up on that mid/late 2015 and that will continue into probably the third quarter of 2016.”
BlueCrest has also announced plans to work with WesPac on a LNG plant in Port MacKenzie which would package and supply LNG to Alaskan communities.
