The Alaska Board of Fisheries (board) will meet for a two-day Work Session beginning at 8:30 a.m., October 25–26, 2022, at the Egan Civic and Convention Center, 555 W. 5th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska.
No regulatory action will be taken at the Work Session. Agenda topics may include: election of officers, agenda change requests, petitions, meeting organization and establishment of committees for the 2022/2023 meeting cycle, review of confirmed locations and dates for future meetings, informational reports, creation of board generated proposals, review of the 2023/2024 call for proposals, and/or administrative issues that may come before the board. The board may choose to go into executive session. The board will also take up items under a miscellaneous business agenda. Immediately following the Work Session, the board will hold a two-day regulatory meeting to consider 11 proposals regarding Pacific cod fisheries in the Alaska Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, Bering Sea, and Chignik management areas. This meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. October 27–28, 2022 at the Egan Civic and Convention Center, 555 W. 5th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska. These meetings are open to the public and interested persons are welcome to attend or to view the meeting online. Because the COVID-19 virus still poses a serious risk to certain segments of the population, and could potentially halt the meeting, social distancing, frequent hand washing, and masks are encouraged but not mandated. To help minimize the spread of COVID-19, any person who is experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms is encouraged to watch the meeting online and to submit comments electronically through the board’s website.
