Body Identified As Missing Colorado Man

Closure at last for the family of a fisherman who has been missing for over a month.

 

On Tuesday, September 12th, Alaska State Troopers received a report of unidentified human remains being found. The body was discovered on shore in the North Beach area, near the mouth of the Kenai River, around 4:15 pm.

 

According to Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters,  the remains were sent to the state medical examiner’s office for positive identification.

 

Wednesday, September 13th, the family of a missing Colorado man confirmed on a social media post that the remains belonged to Phillip ‘Kurt’ Keltner.

 

Keltner was last seen on August 4, at 9:07 pm, when he was ejected from an out-of-control boat on the Kenai River near Centennial Park.

 

In the social media post the family stated: “Thank you to the gracious people of Alaska for your continued efforts in searching.”

 

 

A celebration of life will be held on September 22nd.
