The Kenai Peninsula Borough has added an Alaska LNG informational page to their website.
Larry Persily is the oil and gas special assistant to Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor and said they want to offer as much information as possible to those interested as the project proceeds forward.
Persily: “We want to put links to Federal Regulatory Agencies so people can see what’s going on in the public docket, we want to put information there about LNG carriers, about how you make natural gas, about what’s going on in the world particularly in North America with other proposed LNG export projects. And certainly information on what’s going to be happening on the Kenai Peninsula this summer and in the future.”
At this time the page has one post that recaps the progress that has been made on the project but Persily said soon there will be other features like an email registration to keep people updated.
Persily: “There will be a link for our email list so that every time we send out something new, project updates or oil and gas news briefs or something, they’ll get an email alerting them to it. So whether that is public meetings or just new information on the project or information on what’s going on in British Columbia or the U.S. Gulf Coast with competing projects, they would get an email on it.”
The Alaska LNG Project is still under a 45 day review which was ordered by Governor Bill Walker on April 13.
