Kenai Peninsula Borough administration has begun investigating if and how tax codes for the borough can be improved and simplified.
Borough Mayor Mike Navarre said an internal work group first met on August 13.
He said the group will compile the information collected, determine if changes need to be made, and make those recommendations to the borough assembly who would hold public hearings.
Some of the members of the internal work group include Finance Director Craig Chapman, Oil and Gas Special Assistant Larry Persily, Chief of Staff Paul Ostrander, and Mayor Navarre.
