Borough Assembly Agenda Full After Long Hiatus

The Kenai Peninsula Borough’s Assembly agenda is full of a variety of topics for its January 6 meeting after a nearly month long break.

 

Final steps will be taken in the Bayshore and Funny River West Utility Special Assessment Districts.

 

Mayor Mike Navarre said it’s a long process and detailed what will happen next if approved.

KPB Mayor Navarre: “They will be assessed over 10 years on each parcel based on that equal allocation. And then the repayment part comes in if somebody else hooks up to the gasline at some point over the next three years, then ENSTAR pays into the Borough a portion of that fee and it goes also to pay down that debt.”

 

The total cost of the 10 year assessment for the Funny River West is $937,000 and the Bayshore Subdivision is  $111,000.

 

Also up for public hearings: finalizing the expedition process for “non-controversial” ordinances, instituting the requirements for borough employees after the marijuana initiative goes into affect, and appropriating $438,700 from the CPGH Inc, Plant Replacement and Expansion Fund for the purchase of new Fluoroscopy equipment.
