The 2015 Kenai Peninsula Borough Cross Country Skiing Championships shined s spotlight on the younger racers from peninsula schools; as freshman skiers won individual titles for both girls and boys events.
The Borough championships featured a combined Duathlon format which featured a 4K freestyle section followed by a 3K classic section, combining the two disciplines into one event.
Kenai Central’s freshman Addison Gibson recorded the fastest overall time for the girls championship; followed by KCHS freshman Riana Boonstra. In the boys competition, SoHi freshman John-Mark Pothast posted the fastest boys time, just 10 seconds quicker an KCHS freshman Karl Danielson.
The Kardinal girls placed five skiers in the top seven for the girls title. The Star boys placed five in the top ten for the boys title.

The Region III Cross Country Skiing Championships are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 13-14 hosted by Colony High School.
