The Kenai Peninsula Borough is taking proactive measures to clarify employee code having to do with marijuana use.
Assembly member Mako Haggerty gave the report on the Policies and Procedures Committee at last night’s meeting.
Haggerty: “To reference the use of or impairment by controlled substances and we talked a little bit about this but basically because marijuana’s been legalized by the vote in November this just brings up to date the borough code.”
Many state agencies have encouraged employers and businesses to ensure that employees are notified of marijuana related policies before the initiative is implemented in order to reduce conflicts.
