The Kenai Peninsula Borough has finished and mailed the 2014 assessments to the last address on record of known property owners.

Director of Assessing, Tom Anderson said if property owners would like a review of their assessment to contact the Borough Assessing Department.

Anderson: “We will assign an appraiser to review their assessment and their property record with them. After review, if a property owner is still not satisfied that their assessment is correct, they may appeal to the Board of Equilization.”

Appeal forms with appropriate filing fee based on the property assessment must be postmarked or received by the Borough Clerk no later that March 31 at 5 pm.

Property owners should receive two page assessments of their property and a person who receives an assessment notice should advise the Assessor of any errors or omissions.

Assessments are also available online through the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assessing Deparment’s website however Anderson urged property owners who do not receive an assessment letter to contact the department.

Questions about assessments or if property owners would like to meet with an Assessing Department representative may call the Borough Assessing office at 714-2230.
