A local group of borough residents have sent an anti-annexation letter to Soldotna Mayor Nels Anderson.
President of the Borough Residents Against Annexation Brian Olson said thousands of signatures have been gathered.
Members of the group are preparing to attend next week’s Soldotna City Council meeting to testify against the city’s proposed $150,000 study on annexation, since the same question was vetoed in 2008.
At one of the group’s previous meetings, Olson was also quick to encourage property owners to direct their frustration away from City Administrators…
Olson: “Well the City employees, that’s their job. That’s what they do to put beans on the table. They’re professionals in their field and they’re just doing what their employment tells them to do, so they’re off the table. Nobody should be saying anything about the City employees. But the politicians are fair game.”
That Soldotna City Council meeting will be at 6 pm on May 13 in the Soldotna City Hall.
