The high school cross country running season moves into the “Big 3” with the 2016 Kenai Peninsula Borough Cross Country Running Championships leading the way on Tuesday, September 13th on the course at Seward High School. The Region III Cross Country Running Championship are set for September 24th and the ASAA State Cross Country Running Championship scheduled for October 1st.
2016 Cross Country Running Championships
The Homer Mariners look to defend their team championships in both the girls and boys competition from 2015; the Homer girls will face a strong challenge from the Kenai Kardinal girls.
Kenai’s Rianna Boonstra, the 2015 individual champion, will lead a field which features all five top finishers from 2015, including teammates Ithaca Bergholtz and Addison Gibson.
Seward’s Hunter Kratz returns to defend his individual title.
