The Alaska Wolves U-16, state champions in the U-16 AA division of Alaska youth hockey, will represent Alaska at the USA Hockey National Championship in Wayne, New Jersey.
Galen Brantley III and Cade Appelhans, both of Soldotna, are members of the Alaska team which won the Alaska U-16 state championship and finished the season at 15-4-2.
The national championships run from Thursday, April 5th through Monday, April 9th with the Alaska Wolves opening game scheduled for 2:15 p.m. against Everett Jr. Silvertips at the Ice Vault Arena.
In Tier II U-18 hockey, Levi Mese and Matt Hagel, teammates at KCHS, are on the roster for the Alaska Oilers U-18 state champions. The Alaska Oilers open play in Green Bay, Wisconsin on April 5th at noon against the Maine Moose.
Alaska has also qualified state champions to compete at the national championships in other divisions, including the Alaska All-Stars and Anchorage North Stars in the U-19 and U-16 divisions.
