Brown Bears Hockey Closes Alaska Run In Anchorage

Following four, straight games against the Anchorage Wolverines at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex, the Kenai River Brown Bears close their first Alaska series with two games in Anchorage–against the Wolverines.

 

Kenai River faces-off against the Wolverines at Ben Boeke Arena in Anchorage on Friday and Saturday, December 9-10 with game times scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

 

The Brown Bears and Wolverines split four games in Soldotna with Kenai River winning the first two and the Wolverines taking the most recent two games.  On Friday, the Wolverines rallied from a 2-1 deficit scoring two goals in the final :54 seconds by for a 3-2 victory.  Saturday, Anchorage used a four-goal, second period to outscore the Brown Bears 5-2 in NAHL action.  The Brown Bears stand at 15-11-1-0 in the Midwest Division standing.

 

The Alaska Cup standings find the Wolverines with 14 points, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs with nine points and the Brown Bears own five points.

 

In the Midwest Division of the NAHL, the Minnesota Wilderness, with 34 points, have taken over first place moving past the Fairbanks Ice Dogs with 33 points.  Kenai River falls to fourth place with 31 points.
