Wins remain difficult to come by for the Kenai River Brown Bears, on the road and on home ice.

 

The Brown Bears dropped two contests to the Lone Star (Taxes) Brahmas on home ice at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex; the final two games of the Brown Bears current home stand.  Kenai River posts a 2-2 record for the four-game home stint.  Kenai River stands 2-8 in last 10 games, including six straight road losses.

 

Brahmas 4 – Brown Bears 3   Friday Night

The Brown Bears opened a quick 2-0 lead on early goals by Ezitis and Kaplan–2-0 Bears midway through the first period.

The Brahmas answered with four straight goals to take a 4-2 lead.  A single Kenai River goal by Komuls.

In goal for the Brown Bears, Gavin Enright recorded 34 saves.

Kenai River managed only a single, second period goal by Tyler Mkknich.

 

Brown Bears Update

The Brown Bears stand at 12-24-1-1 in the Midwest Division of the North American Hockey League, currently tied for sixth in the six team division with the Coulee Region Chill, both with 26 points.  The fourth place Minnesota Magicians currently have 38 points.

The top four teams in the division advance to the playoffs in the NAHL.

Kenai River opens a four-game, two week road trip featuring single games against four Midwest opponents, not including the league leading Fairbanks Ice Dogs (28-5-3-2).
