Brown Bears Enter Christmas Break In Midwest Cellar

The holiday break in the NAHL regular season schedule for the Kenai River Brown Bears will be short with the Brown Bears returning to play on New Year’s Day against the Minnesota Magicians at the Richfield Arena in Minnesota.

 

The Brown Bears currently stand in eighth place in the eight-team Midwest Division of the NAHL with a 7-19-2-1 overall record through 29 games.  The Fairbanks Ice Dogs lead the Midwest Division with a record of 22-8-0-1 and 45 points.  Alaska’s third NAHL team, the Anchorage Wolverines, stand in third at 17-10-2-0 and 36 points.

Kenai River will open 2022 with a two-game series January 1-2 against the Magicians and follow-up with a three-game series, January 6-8 against the Janesville Jets at the Janesville Ice Arena before returning to Alaska to face the Fairbanks Ice Dogs on January 14-15 at the Big Dipper Ice Arena in Fairbanks.

The Brown Bears next home series is schedule for January 21-23 against the Janesville Jets at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.

Cole Dubicki Named Midwest Division Star of the Week
Cole Dubicki, 5’9/170 lbs. native of Seattle, recorded seven points in three road games in Springfield for the Brown Bears.  Dubicki leads the Brown Bears in scoring with 37 points in 29 games.
