Brown Bears Face Elimination After Dropping Pair To Minnesota

The Midwest Division finals in the Robertson Cup Series may result in early elimination for the Kenai River Brown Bears as the Brown Bears prepare to host games three and four of the five-game series after dropping the first two playoff games on the road at the Minnesota Magicians.

 

Magicians 3 – Kenai River 2   Friday Series Opener

The Brown Bears and Magicians played even until Minnesota broke a 2-2 tie with under five minutes remaining in regulation for the 3-2 victory in game one of the division series.  The Brown Bears lead 1-0 after one period on a Brandon Lajoie goal.  Minnesota evened the game at 1-1 in the second period.  The Magicians took a 2-1 lead in the third before Morgan Winters evened up the contest at 2-2.  Minnesota’s Jack Cronin scored the game winner.  In goal for Kenai River, Luke Pavicich recorded 34 saves as the Brown Bears were outshot 37 to 23.

Magicians 7 – Kenai River 2   Saturday  Game Two

The Brown Bears trailed 6-0 into the third period on Saturday unable to get the offense on track against the Magicians.  In the third period, Theo Thrun and Brandon McNamara scored for the Bears.  Luke Pavicich turned-away 34 shots as Kenai River was outshot 41 to 28.
