The Kenai River Brown Bears look for a first home victory with the first-year Wisconsin Windigo coming to the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex on Friday and Saturday, October 21-22 for the second, home series for the Brown Bears. Game time are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. for both games.
Kenai River dropped a pair of Midwest Division games to the Fairbanks Ice Dogs last weekend with the Ice Dogs downing Kenai River 5-4 in overtime on Friday and 3-1 on Saturday. The Ice Dogs take a 2-0 advantage in the year-long Alaska Cup Series, an in-state series between the Brown Bears, Ice Dogs and the Anchorage Wolverines.

The Ice Dogs scored on a three-on-three break-away :23 seconds into the overtime period. The Ice Dogs tied the contest at 4-4 with less than 3:30 remaining in regulation time. In the game, Soldotna’s Parker Lockwood gave the Brown Bears a 4-3 advantage.

Fairbanks recorded a second-straight victory over the Brown Bears on Saturday with a 3-1 victory, Fairbanks built a 2-0 lead in the second period before Kenai River’s Bryce Monrean, from Anchorage, scored on the power play for the Bears.
Kenai River, after a six-game road win streak, fall to 9-4-1-0 and stand in first place in the Midwest Division; the Ice Dogs, improve to 9-5-0-0 and move up to second place in the Midwest.
