The Kenai River Brown Bears, on a two-game win streak against the Anchorage Wolverines, will again host the Wolverines in a two-game series Friday and Saturday, December 2-3 at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex to close-out the Brown Bears extended home stand in NAHL hockey.
Friday Night is Hillcorp Fill The Net Night with free admission with the donation of two food items or $5 food purchase for the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. Saturday is Operation Children First Night with free admission with a donation of a teen gift or $5 gift card.
Kenai River defeated the Wolverines 4-2 and 2-1 in a pre-Thanksgiving series and return for a pair of games in the Alaska Cup series. The current Alaska Cup standings have the Wolverines with 10 points, Fairbanks Ice Dogs, 9 points and the Brown Bears with 5 points.
Following the weekend series with Anchorage, the Brown Bears next home stand is scheduled to open n January 27, 2023 against the Wisconsin Windigo.
The Fairbanks Ice Dogs hold-down first place in the Midwest Division with 33 points and the Minnesota Wilderness, 8-2 in their last ten games, jump into second place with 32 points. The Brown Bears are currently third with 31 points.
