The Kenai River Brown Bears open play in the Midwest Division of the North American Hockey League with a Friday and Saturday, two-game series against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
The opening series will be on the ice at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex with game times set for 7:30 p.m. each night.
The Brown Bears and Ice Dogs faced-off in the 2013 Midwest Division semi-finals, with Fairbanks winning the five-game series in game five 3-2 in overtime. The Ice Dogs advanced to the finals with the victory.
