The Kenai River Brown Bears have petitioned for reinstatement in the NAHL, following the fundraising efforts of team supporters and the Save the Brown Bears campaign.
According to Steve Stuber, representative of the Save the Brown Bears, the Brown Bear ownership and board submitted details of the fundraising efforts and a request to be re-activated for the 2017-18 NAHL season in the Midwest Division for consideration by the NAHL Board of Governors.
The NAHL Board of Governors is scheduled to meet in emergency session on Tuesday, April 18.
