The 2022 Whaler’s Invitational Basketball Tournament, hosted at Barrow High School in Utqiaġvik, Alaska, released its update schedule for the three-day, round-robin format tournament following a week of questioning the viability of the tournament.
The Whaler’s Invitational will feature the Barrow Whalers girls and boys, Nikiski Bulldogs girls and boys, Monroe Rams girls, West Valley boys, Thunder Mountain boys and Colony JV girls.
The Barrow teams had been quarantined in Fairbanks following the cancellation of the last Friday and Saturday’s tournament games at the McKinley Bank Holiday Classic at Monroe High School. The Nikiski teams are scheduled to fly to Barrow on Wednesday, January 19 for the weekend tournament.
