The Nikiski Bulldog football team held Seward in-check through third quarters en route to a 39-8 Nikiski victory over Seward on Friday at Nikiski High School.

In a battle of Division III programs, Nikiski’s defense forced three turnovers and forced Seward to turn over the ball on downs three times; the defense also set-up the offense with the football eight times inside Seward territory. Holden Warnke recorded two interceptions for the Bulldogs.
On offense, Koleman McCoughey ran for three touchdowns; a 16-yard run in the first quarter, a 24-yard run in the first quarter and a 27-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Dylan Harris added a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter; Gavin White ran for a 10-yard touchdown in the second quarter and Truit McCoughey scored the final touchdown on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Seward scored a lone touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 41-yard touchdown pass from Tommy Cronin to Elmo Lackey.
Nikiski and Seward meet again on Friday, September 25th in Seward for a peninsula rematch.
