Conference action in the Southern Division of the Northern Lights Conference resulted in victories for the Soldotna Stars in Homer and a split in the varsity games at KCHS between the Kardinals and the Nikiski Bulldogs.
Kenai Girls 6 – Nikiski 0
The Kenai girls shutout the Bulldogs 6-0 with Kardinal goals by Heidi Perkins, Lara Creighton, Samantha Morse, Emily Halstead, Mikaela Pitsch and Cori Holmes. Allie Steinbeck recorded a shutout in goal for Kenai.
Nikiski Boys 1 – Kenai 0
The Bulldogs scored an early goal by Larry Cutsforth and goalie Sullivan Jackson holds off the Kardinals for a 1-0 victory for Nikiski.
SoHi Girls 4 – Homer 1
Miranda Wolfe recorded a three-goal, hat trick for the Stars and Alyssa Wolfe added an insurance goal as the Stars downed the Mariners 4-1.
SoHi 3 – Homer 0
The Stars, behind goalie Bailey Jones, shut out Homer 3-0 with Bos Asimakopoulos netted two goals and Dylan Ackerman scoring a single goal.
Nikiski travels to Kodiak Friday and Saturday to play Kodiak, the Bears newly added to the Northern Lights Conference. SoHi will host Eagle River on Friday and Wasilla on Saturday.
