Alaska State Troopers received a report of a burglary on Monday May 29th at a residence in Kenai off of Woods Drive.

The following items were reported stolen:

·         2002 white Jeep Liberty with Montana plate 568034C

·         4 Dall sheep mounts (one of which had a bullet lodged in the right horn)

·         1 Moose mount

·         Caribou antler chandelier with 5 light globes

·         2 burl wood bowls

·         Kimber rifle 300 Winchester Short Magnum, bolt action, maple wood stock with Leupold scope

·         Various pelts

Troopers later learned that on May 25th, an Alaska Wildlife trooper received a suspicious circumstances report from a horn and antler shop in the area.  It was reported that two males tried to sell the shop a Dall sheep mount. Investigation determined that the men, believed to be in their mid-20s, were in the not-yet-reported stolen Jeep Liberty.

The men were described as being approximately 5’6” tall, dark hair and dark skin. One was reportedly approximately 150 pounds; the other was approximately 175 pounds. Both were reported to be of possible Hispanic descent.

There is a possibility that the mounts and other items have attempted to be sold at shops (or online) in areas other than the Kenai Peninsula.
