Basketball tour teams representing Alaska with high school athletes from the Alaska Stars program competed at the Elite is Earned Sprint Invitational basketball tournament in Walnut Creek, California; the Alaska Stars Elite U-17 girls team, with Nikiski’ Bethany Carstens, claimed the tournament championship with an undefeated run through the competition.
The Alaska Stars completed tournament play with a 5-0 record, defeating the EBC Elite from Redmond, Washington 68-44 in the championship game.
