Lead by a double, gold medal performance by SoHi junior Sadie Fox, the Soldotna girls Nordic ski team captured the Region III Nordic Ski Championship girls team title.

The Soldotna Star hockey team battled to a 2-1 victory over Lathrop on Friday; rallying from a 2-1, three-overtime loss Thursday to Chugiak. SoHi plays in the 4th place game Saturday at 9:00 a.m. on ESPN 1140 AM.

As we reported earlier, Alaska’s warm weather is breaking records and having detrimental affects on winter sports. Now the warm weather has made the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race change the start and finish locations, both of which were on rivers.
