Each week KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
The Kenai girls and boys basketball teams both picked up wins at the 3A state tournament last week, finishing 5th and 6th, respectively.
Kenai Central boys and girls, and Homer boys varsity basketball teams will compete at the ASAA 3A State Tournament Mar. 19-22.

The Seward Lady Seahawks won the 2A State Basketball Tournament, and the boys took third; the Cook Inlet Academy boys placed second in the 1A tournament.
Cook Inlet and Seward boys and girls varsity basketball teams will compete at the ASAA 1A/2A State Tournaments Mar. 12-15.
Peninsula high school sports schedule for the week of March 10th.
The Kenai Central boys and girls varsity basketball teams took first and second, respectively, at the 3A Peninsula Conference tournament, and both teams qualified for the 3A state tournament.
The 3A Peninsula Conference basketball tournament will begin this Friday in Nikiski.
The Soldotna Stars had mixed results in their Thursday matchups at the Northern Lights Conference tournament.
