Join the Central Peninsula Hospital for an evening stroll with Dr.Ryan Saliga, Central Peninsula Family Practice and Pediatrics, speaking on depression at June’s ‘Walk With a Doc.’ The event aims to walk and talk folks toward better health.
This month, the community event will cover depression, including signs to watch for, available treatments, and ways to support yourself and others.
‘Walk With a Doc’ will occur at the Soldotna High School Track on Wednesday, June 4th, at 5 p.m.
On the first Wednesday of every month, each ‘Walk With a Doc’ event will start as a group at the beginning, in which a doctor gives a 10-minute presentation on the event’s topic, followed by a quick Q&A. Individuals will then have the opportunity to take a casual walk.
“Even if you’re not very active, that’s absolutely fine,” Said Shanon Davis, Marketing Manager for the Central Peninsula Hospital. “People can walk at their own pace.”
Davis says they typically do around two laps, and then everyone will come back together for more discussions. She encourages everyone to join for an evening of movement and meaningful conversation.
The event is free and open to the community. No pre-registration is required.
Come dressed for the weather and ready to walk!
