Top of the World Swimming (TOWS) team members Kendra Ashwell, Carolann Barum, Johna Beech, Angie Brennan, Danny McIntosh, Lucas Petersen, and Michelle Turinsky competed in a combined total of 36 events over the four day swim meet.

Kendra Ashwell (1), Angie Brennan (1), and Lucas Petersen (3) brought home five age group medals. Lucas Petersen, along with 3 other Alaskan swimmers; David Keddington, Leo Lemelson, Dirk Craft, set a new Alaska state record for the Age Group: 35-Mixed Men 200Y Medley Relay with the time of: 1:43.83.

The 2023 USMS Spring National Championship was held April 27–30, 2023 at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatic Center in Irvine, California. Over the four days, 2,500 swimmers competed in the annual event. Sixteen of the 2,500 swimmers are Alaskans, with seven hailing from the Kenai/Soldotna Area.

TOWS is a part of U.S. Masters Swimming, which is a national membership-operated nonprofit that provides membership benefits to nearly 65,000 Masters swimmers across the country. The “Masters” refers to 18 years old or older, not the skill set. TOWS practices at the Kenai Central High School Pool and offers the Adult Learn to Swim Program.
