Alaska’s business-friendly reputation has taken a dip with low oil prices concerning the nation’s top CEOs.
Chief Executive Magazine dropped Alaska’s ranking two places to #34 on their list of best places to do business. The survey asked 500 CEOs their opinions and measured migration, unemployment rates, and state government debt.
The CEO’s top concern was finding enough employees in the 49th state. Alaska has the lowest population density of any state in the union. They also cited low oil prices and the possibility of future taxes/tax increases as a concern.
Alaska’s key companies were listed as: GCI, Alaska Communications, and First National Bank Alaska.
