Central Emergency Services celebrated their newest Captain at Station 1 in Soldotna this weekend by finalizing the promotion for Joshua Thompson with his badge pinning.
Thompson has been with CES for 15 years…
Thompson: “I’m in charge of a couple more people now and I get to ride on the engine a lot so it’s kind of fun.”
Captain Leslie Quelland recently retired and Thompson says he agrees with her statements that Central Emergency Services is continuing in a very positive direction under the guidance of Chief Roy Browning.
Thompson: “We have a new chief that’s really pushing us and training us and getting us good equipment and making sure we’re responsible I guess and doing what we’re supposed to.”
He says he looks forward to helping people more in his role as captain.
