Clean-up of an accident near Mile 50 of the Sterling Highway towards Cooper Landing is ongoing with Troopers still on scene.

Nelson: “One person was transported with non-life threatening injuries, they were going to take him down to Soldotna.”

He said that originally they got reports of two accidents but there was only one accident.

Nelson added that road conditions are treacherous on parts of the highway headed to Anchorage.

Nelson: “From about Mile 75 and north roads are bad. Up in the pass there’s snow, heavy wet snow, there’s a mixture of rain and snow throughout this whole area so people should take their time and be aware of their travels as they’re going today.”
