CH2M HILL Engineers, Inc. has been awarded a contract to support certain pre-FEED services for the Alaska LNG Project.
Some of the services the company will be involved in include project controls, marine studies, logistics and construction planning, cost estimating and project scheduling.
As we previously reported, on February 11 the Alaska LNG Project filed a series of draft environmental and socioeconomic reports to the Federal Energy Regulation Commission.
That step launched the pre-file public engagement process and the reports provide preliminary baseline data about the project area and its potential impacts.
Currently the Alaska LNG Project is in the preliminary front end engineering and design, or pre-FEED, phase of the project.
That phase is expected to last until sometime in 2016 with a gross spend of more than $500 million.
According to the release from BP, Conoco Phillips, Exxon Mobil, Trans Canada, and the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation, second drafts of those resource reports are expected to be submitted to FERC within the next 12-18 months.
Those secondary reports will include more a more defined image of the project with specific project impacts and their proposed mitigation measures.
