The 2021 ASAA Alaska State Basketball Championships for 1A and 2A basketball advances to Championship Saturday on April 3rd with four games scheduled at Palmer High School.
1A Boys Championship
Lumen Christi of Anchorage will represent the Peninsula Conference in the 1A Boys state championship game. Lumen defeated Shaktoolik 66-48 on Friday to advance to the title game. The Archangels will play Maudrey J. Summer, 59-57 winners over Tanalian, in the 3 p.m. championship game.
1A Girls Championship
The 1A Girls state championship will feature Newhalen against Shishmaref. Newhalen downed Brevig Mission 70-26 and Shishmaref defeated Klawook 51-35 in Friday’s semi-finals. The girls championship game opens the final round at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
2A Girls Championship
The 2A championship game on the girls bracket will feature Su-Valley against Hooper Bay. The Su-Valley Rams won 55-23 over Chevak and the Hooper Bay Warriors topped Glennallen 30-23 in Fridays semi-finals. Game time is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
2A Boys Championship
Tikigaq returns to defend its 2019 championship with the Harpooner boys defeating Glennallen 76-47 on Friday. The Harpooners will face Tok for the 2A title; Tok downed Hooper Bay 61-54 to advance to the 2A boys championship game set for 7:45 p.m. Saturday at Palmer High School.
