Robert Ruffner has the support of Speaker of the Alaska State House Mike Chenault as he vies for a seat on the Board of Fish.
Speaker Chenault(R-Nikiski): “I think it’s going fine for Robert. I think that there’s support him here and then there’s the other side that doesn’t support him. He’s working hard and right now he’s got a good chance of being confirmed.”
Chenault confirmed yesterday he would be voting in favor of Ruffner’s appointment.
Speaker Chenault(R-Nikiski): “I just think that Robert is a guy that can start in the middle and listen t what the facts are and make a decision based upon the facts and not based on any one group’s ideology on how the Board of Fish should work.”
The joint confirmation session originally scheduled for Friday has been cancelled. Ruffner is still waiting to hear from the Senate State Affairs Committee if his nomination will be passed.
