The newly-adopted, extra inning rules proved just the ticket for the Chugiak- Eagle River Chinooks as the Chinooks defeated the Oilers 4-2 with two runs in the 10th inning on Saturday.

The Chinooks, in the 10th inning, started with a runner on second base (the new rule for extra inning games) and proceeded to score two runs on three hits. In the bottom of the 10th inning, the Oilers leave two runners stranded unable to drive home any runs.
The Oilers lead 2-0 in the third inning with a two RBI single by Owen Christy scoring Dylan Ditzenberger and Bryce Marsh. Chugiak scored one run in the sixth and one in the seventh to force a 10th inning.
The Oilers take three of five games in the home series against the Chinooks. The Oilers have two days off before the next series begins on Tuesday, July 20th.
The final home series of the 2021 ABL season opens on Tuesday, July 20th with the Anchorage Glacier Pilots coming to Coral Seymour Memorial Park for a five-game series.
