On Wednesday, September 29th at 2:58 p.m., the Soldotna Alaska State Trooper K-9 team responded to the area of milepost 56 of the Sterling Highway in Cooper Landing after a complainant reported a 1985 Ford Winnebago ran into his vehicle. After the Winnebago ran into the complainant’s vehicle, the driver fled the scene, according to the online state trooper dispatch.

The suspect vehicle was located and traffic stopped for traveling above the posted speed limit. The driver was identified as 46-year-old Siv Betti Jonsson of Chugiak.

An investigation revealed that Jonsson has a revoked operator’s license for an original charge of driving under the influence. Johnson, according to state troopers, has several DUI and driving with license revoked convictions within the last ten years.

During initial contact, Jonsson provided several different names, but eventually was identified and arrested. She was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, false information, driving with license revoked, and felony DUI.

Jonsson was transported to the Alaska State Troopers for datamaster processing and then taken to Wildwood Pretrial where she was held without bail.
