The Cook Inlet Academy boys controlled play throughout in their opening round contest at the ASAA 1A Boys State Basketball Championships, downing Emmonak 64-45 at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.
CIA Boys 64 – Emmonak 45
Alek McGarry led the Cook Inlet boys offensive attack with 22 points as CIA defeated the Emmonak Huskies 64-45. Ian McGarry and Abraham Henderson added 15 and 14 points. The Eagles dominated the boards recording 43 rebounds and holding Emmonak to 32% shooting.
The Eagle boys advance to play Tri-Valley on Thursday in the 7:45 p.m. game. Tri-Valley defeated Buckland 69-65 in first-round action.
