The Cook Inlet Academy Eagles completed an unbeaten run through the Alaska Christian Schools Athletic Association soccer tournament winning five games in the three day tournament held at the Kenai Sports Complex.

The Eagles are 15-0 on the season after recording a pair of victories in the tournament’s first round; adding a pair of wins in Friday’s semi-finals; and overpowering Birchwood Christian School 8-0 in the final.

CIA head soccer coach Kenny Leaf, “Senior Captain Riley Smithwick was an unstoppable force for the Eagles on the day, making the most of the last home game of his career by scoring two wonderful first-half goals from his right back position and repeatedly denying the Warriors’ attack with outstanding defense. Timmy Smithwick exploded for four goals himself on the day, bringing his 5-game tournament tally to an amazing 16 goals scored.  Johnny Smithwick added a pair of beautiful goals and Andrew Hammond rounded out the scoring with a strike of his own for the Eagles.”
