CIA Earns Borealis Soccer Championship Game Victory On Penalty Kicks

After a scoreless regulation and extra time, the Cook Inlet Academy Eagles knocked-off Holy Rosary with penalty kicks deciding the Borealis Conference championship game on Saturday at the Kenai Soccer Fields.

With the 2016 Borealis title, Cook Inlet has now won five of six titles in the fall co-ed Region II soccer division.

Championship Game: CIA defeats Holy Rosary    3 PK to 2 PK

Tied 0-0 after regulation, CIA converted on 3 0f 5 penalty kicks for the championship game victory.

Penalty kicks by round:

1st Round: CIA miss by Noah Leaf; Holy Rosary converts      Holy Rosary 1- CIA 0

2nd Round: CIA James Anderson converts; Holy Rosary stopped     Holy Rosary 1- CIA 1

3rd Round: CIA Dalton Warren concerts: Holy Rosary converts      Holy Rosary 2- CIA 2

4th Round: CIA and Holy Rosary both blocked     Holy Rosary 2- CIA 2

5th Round: CIA converts game winner by Adara Warren; Holy Rosary blocked
