Volleyball in the 2A division is taking center stage with the final matches of the regular season scheduled for Tuesday and statewide, conference tournaments beginning on Thursday.
The Cook Inlet Academy Eagles and Ninilchik Wolverines, playing in the Borealis Conference, faced Tuesday at Ninilchik School in the regular season finale’. Ninilchik downed CIA 3-0, winning 25-12, 25-23 and 25-12.
The Borealis Conference Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for Thursday through Saturday, November 19-21 at Lumen Christi School in Anchorage. The top two teams will advance to the ASAA 2A State Volleyball Championships scheduled for December 3-5 at Dimond High School.
Cordova currently leads the standings in the Borealis Conference with a 17-0 record. Cook Inlet Academy stands at 7-13 and Ninilchik at 13-9.
Brackets for the Borealis Tournament should be available Wednesday following the completion of regular season contests.
