CIA Opens Borealis Soccer With Weekend Road Sweep

The fall mixed-coed soccer season opened for the Cook Inlet Academy soccer program with a three-game sweep in Borealis Conference action.

 

Cook Inlet Academy 2 – Su-Valley 1

The CIA Eagles opened with a 2-1 victory over Su-Valley in Talkeetna on Thursday.  Down by a goal, Hunter Moos opened the scoring for the Eagles with a goal around the 25th minute to tie the contest in the first half.  Linnaea Dohse scored the game-winner eight minutes into the second half.  Final Score: CIA 2, Su-Valley 1

 

Cook Inlet Academy 4 – Holy Rosary Academy 1

Cook Inlet scored a pair of first half goals and added two goals in the second half for a 4-1 victory over Holy Rosary Academy in Anchorage.  Hunter Moos scored twice in the first half and added a second half goal for a three-goal, hat trick.  James Anderson added a solo goal.  Final Score: CIA 4, Holy Rosary 1

 

Cook Inlet Academy 5 – Lumen Christi 0

Hunter Moos recorded his second hat trick of the early season on Saturday against Lumen Christi leading the Eagles to a 5-1 win over the Archangels.  Addie Nelson and Linnaea Dohse added single goals.  Final Score: CIA 5, Lumen 0

 

The Cook Inlet Eagle mixed-coed soccer team stands at 3-0 on the season (all conference games).  Next up on the Eagle’s schedule is a road trip against northern opponents beginning Thursday, August 30th at Tri-Valley.  Friday, the Eagles travel to Anderson to play Nenana; Saturday, CIA battles Delta.
