The Cook Inlet Academy Eagles co-ed soccer team opened play at the Tri-Valley Tournament on Thursday with a victory over Lady of the Valley (from Wasilla) 3-0. CIA continues tournament play with an 11 a.m. Friday game against unbeaten Su-Valley and a 3 p.m. game against Nenana.

Noah Castenholz scored two goals and recorded an assist in the Eagles 3-0 shut out of Lady of the Valley. The first goal came eight minutes into regulation with Castenholz scoring on an assist from Austin Henderson. Early in the second half, Castenholz returned the favor with an assist to Henderson for a 2-0 CIA lead. Castenholz closed the scoring with a goal in the 67th minute with a lead pass from Tatum Rozak. Gavin Liles recorded the save in goal for the Eagles.
