City Manager Paul Ostrander and his staff will be at the Kenai Senior Center on Tuesday, March 10 at 6 p.m. for their Invest In Kenai presentation.
On the agenda is discussing the proposed FY21 budget, and how it supports the city services and projects that matter most to citizens of Kenai. Views of the attendees will be valued, and according to the press release about the event, “Your input will be taken into consideration in the proposed budge that Administration presents to the Kenai City Council.”
City Manager Ostrander: “There are a couple of goals for the Invest In Kenai meeting. The first one is to provide information to the public, basically updating them on what their city is doing, the state of the city, and from a budgetary perspective, financial perspective. Also, we have live polling at this event which gives the public an opportunity to actually weigh in on what they think is important as far as the services they provide or other things that we may might want to consider as we’re putting the budget together. We did it last year for the first time, and we’re planning on doing it again this year. The folks who attended last year really enjoyed that live polling. It’s important for us to get a pulse of the community.”
The last time the budget was discussed by Ostrander was at the State of The Kenai address on March 4 in front of the Kenai Chamber of Commerce, where he and Mayor Brian Gabriel primarily focused on revenues, sales taxes, and capital improvements in the FY21 budget.
No RSVP is required, and according to City Manager Ostrander, they are encouraging all interested parties to show up: “The public is welcome. The more the better! We hope to have as many people as we can fit into that room. That would be great.”
