Update: The road is now open at milepost 120 on the Sterling Highway but traffic is moving slowly. DOT warns drivers to be prepared to stop. The power line is still on the roadway but there are maintenance crews working on clearing the area.

 

Original Story: Department of Transportation reports a power line down and across the Sterling Highway at milepost 120, blocking and stopping traffic.

 

DOT personnel are clearing the road now and maintenance equipment is on the roadway with repairs in progress. Be prepared to stop when traveling through this area. Milepost 120 is near Clam Gulch.
