The Soldotna Stars opened a two-day, road trip to Colony High School with a pair of losses to the Colony Knights in Northern Lights Conference basketball play on Friday in the Valley.
Colony Girls 55 – SoHi Girls 32
The Colony girls opened a 29-10 lead at the half against the SoHi Stars enroute to a 55-32 Knights victory in Northern Lights Conference action. SoHi’s Kaytlin McAnelly lead the Stars with 10 points.
Colony Boys 60 – SoHi Boys 37
The Knight jumped-out to 23-11 first-quarter lead, opened a 43-16 lead at the half and cruised to a 60-37 NLC victory over the Stars. Jayce Underwood toped the Knights with 16 points. Ethan Sewell scored 13 points for SoHi; Zac Buckbee added eight and Jakob Brown scored eight points.
The Stars and Knights return to the court on Saturday with games scheduled for noon and 1:30 p.m. for the varsity.
