What’s better than sweeping Service and Dimond in AA American Legion baseball doubleheaders?
A combined no-hitter thrown by Twins pitchers to punctuate the weekend.
The Post 20 Twins improved to 4-2 and stand in second place in the American Division of Alaska Legion baseball following a pair of conference victories; one over Service on Saturday and one over Dimond on Sunday. The Twins also recorded wins in both non-conference pairings.
The highlight of the weekend home series, a no-hitter thrown against the Dimond Post 21 by Logan Smith and Harrison Metz for the Post 20 Twins.
Twins 5 – Dimond 0
Logan Smith pitched four complete innings (and attempted to continue in the fifth inning) of no-hit baseball against Dimond on Sunday before giving-way to Harrison Metz, as the two Twins pitchers combined for a no-hitter in a 5-0 conference victory. The Twins also won the non-conference contest 11-8 over Dimond.
Twins 8 – Service 7
An unearned, game-winning walk-off run provided the Twins with an 8-7 victory over Service on Saturday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park. Service misplayed a Tanner Ussing ground ball in the bottom of the seventh inning scoring the winning run.
