The Kenai Peninsula is heading into the peak of the busy Alaskan summer.
Soldotna Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tammi Murray said this coming weekend is one of the busiest for this season’s calendar.
Murray: “Probably one of the busiest weekends of the summer is happening, we have the Kenai Peninsula Air Fair Air Show this weekend, and then Saturday we have our Lemonade Day, it’s finally here.”
Eighty-three children have signed up with 50 lemonade stands spread across Kenai and Soldotna.
The annual event to teach local children entrepreneurial skills will see the stands opening for business around 11 am on Saturday, June 13.
Murray: “The [Kenai] River Festival is back in the park this weekend, they’re starting it officially on Friday evening, the Run for the River they do their registration Friday and then there’s some live music, the beer garden will be open, some vendors will be out there. And then Saturday morning the actually Run for the River, the 5K and the 10 mile will happen.”
